Where to Sit

One of the things that I’ve been pondering a lot over the past few days is just how much grace we receive. I watched a sermon tonight that the pastor mentioned how even in our worst times, we don’t understand or know about all the amazing things He’s doing and setting up in our lives that we can’t see!
I began to think of all the times I’d seen God’s provision. In times of great sorrow and distress, it always feels as though our worlds are crumbling down. But when we connect our bad with the good, the light at the end of the tunnel that always seems to come in the end, we remember there’s a good God watching over. Our troubles will never be eternal, they shall all come to an end before the One who has no end.
So in this time, we look to Hebrews to show us what to do:
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)
With the virus only ramping up in the U.S., in our home, with our friends and family, neighbors and fellow workers, it’s a time of great need. The throne of grace is a place where we can lay our heads, worship a good, all-loving and knowing God. A God who knows the outcome to all things; a God with the world in the palm of His hand. We get to come to Him in confidence, confidence that our lives and health are in His hands.
We are promised His grace and help when we need it most. And for those who are seeking that need, let us be His hands and feet. For the neighbors who are older and can’t go out to get groceries, let us be His hands. For the students who don’t have lunch because they can’t go to school, let us reach into our wallets and be His feet.
So let your light shine. As corny and cheesy as that may seem, shine! Love all those around you and let them know you by your love as the Lord says we should! Go through the days and weeks at His altar of grace and help, so then you may be filled up, without limit as the book of John says with His Spirit without limit!
