Hands

Recently an audio clip from a video was played over a Christian radio station that I was listening to in the car. The clip was so powerful to me that I scoured the internet until I found it again so that I could share it with all of you. Watch this little video, and then come back for my closing thoughts:

I had never thought of how different a situation or a thing or an idea could be depending on whose hands it was in. Think about this: in the hands of Moses, with God's power flowing through him, a simple carved piece of wood was able to save the eternities of billions. Not just the Israelites who crossed that sea, but their children, and their children's children, and their grandchildren's children, on and on and on. Now, a staff is just made of wood. Nothing special about it, just a dead tree that had been molded and chiseled down into a certain shape. A shepherd's staff has a hook on the end to help him herd sheep. A walking staff might have a handle of sorts that makes it easy to grab on to. My point is this: if God could split an entire sea wide enough for hundreds of people, their belongings, animals, and things of the such to fit through with nothing more than a piece of a dead tree, how much do you think he can do with a living, breathing human being? You could say that God probably made that staff special and that it was molded differently or made out of a special wood, but you were made out of the ULTIMATE materials and have been molded by God directly throughout your life. The question is, whose hands are you going to put yourself in? Because in your own hands, your life could be pretty good. You might make a few people happy, you might even have some fun yourself. But if you put your life in God's hands, the opportunities are endless for what seas you could split, what giants you could overcome, and the thousands you could feed. It all depends on the hands that it's in.
