The Sweet End of a Day

Not too long ago I was given an inspirational day brightener that has Bible verses and inspirational quotes on it for every day of the year. My only issue is that I struggle to remember to flip the page every day. I was doing some catching up on my inspirational quotes when this came up.

“The best way to end a meal is with dessert… and a day with prayer.”

When we think about a sweet way to end a meal, we think of dessert. My go-to is ice cream. But what do we think about a sweet way to end a day? This reminds me of Romans 12:12 that says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

It is so important to stay faithful in prayer. How can we draw closer to God without talking to him? If we end every day with prayer, we’re able to talk to Him about everything we did that day and how we can praise Him for the good things that happened. God doesn’t want to miss a beat, and He doesn’t! But in order to have a relationship with someone, you have to talk to them. Talking to God is a part of growing in that relationship and pouring into it. I know I get excited about ending my meal so I can have some ice cream, so I try to get excited for the end of my day so I can talk to God. Prayer is truly the sweetest part of ending the day.
