When I think about this part of the verse, I often think about how when friends of mine start succeeding or I start succeeding, there often springs up some jealousy. I want to succeed like my friends, but not in a way that is honoring to them.

 

I look at the way my friends succeed and I get jealous, often picking apart what they received and tearing them down. 

 

Love does not do that. Love celebrates other's achievements. Love celebrates other's talents. Love celebrates things that people have worked hard for. Even if you didn’t receive the same thing.
