Have you ever really wanted something and you didn’t get it? Or have you expected one thing to happen, and something entirely different occurs? Because of the world we live in, uncertainty, failure, and surprise are very much present in our lives. The other day I was preparing myself for something that I had wanted for a long time, and I did not get it. I had planned a path to get where I wanted to be, but again it didn’t work out. What did happen, though, was that God opened up another door for me, and I am so excited about it. That similar situation has happened many times in my own life, and I have seen it happen in my friends’ lives as well.

We will be disappointed in this life. But take heart, everyone! We might not get what we want, but God has something so much better for us planned. Continue to trust in Him because, as Proverbs 16:9 says, “Humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes our steps.” Don’t let disappointment keep you from moving forward. Be willing to expect the unexpected! God’s Got Us!
