The Blessing of Friendship

I have gone to church all of my life and I have been blessed to grow up in a Christian household. My parents are incredible role models in their faith, their love for me, and their work ethic. Leaders at churches I’ve attended have also served as strong influences in my life. Adults that share their wisdom, experience and faith with us are an instrumental part of our growth. Hopefully, we can all find mentors in our lives who build us up and walk with us through life.
But it wasn’t until high school that I discovered the importance of being able to lean on another blessing from God.
Friends!
I am so thankful for the people God placed into my life. No friendship is perfect, and there are always rough patches, but I have learned so much from my friends and they have impacted me in ways I cannot fathom. Despite having several close friends in middle school, I did not have anyone my age whom I could go to and ask for prayer or talk about my faith with. Though I had strong adults in my life, I was lacking a community in my personal life.
Proverbs 27:9 says, “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.” Seek out people in your life who build you up and whom you can go to with anything. Those that you can share your worst moments with and your best. Pleasantness will result when growing strong and rooted friendships in Christ.
But do not forsake your forever friend! Jesus Christ died on the cross for each one of you. When you find yourself in the midst of a dry spell, and few people come your way, seek Jesus! He is always waiting for you with open arms. I love you guys and have a blessed Easter! God’s Got This:)
