His Creation

Have you ever felt like you are not enough? Like you are worthless? You are not alone. Almost everyone feels like that at some point in their lives. Maybe you messed up a plan you had for a long time. You could have performed at a lower level on a test than the rest of your classmates. Maybe you are taking longer to learn a skill or concept than other people you know. You could have been disappointed in a game or a performance. Maybe you cannot stand how you look and are constantly striving to change your appearance to fit in with other people. All of these instances and others affect how we see ourselves. In an instant, it is easier to go from feeling like you are on top of the world to feeling like we have no purpose and that we will never be good enough.

This devotional is going to be relatively short because I only have one thing to remind you all of. At the very beginning of the Bible, when God created the world, He created us. Genesis 1:27 says that “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.” You were handcrafted by the Lord of the universe! You, yes, you! Not only were you created by Him, but you were made in his perfect image. Nothing about you is a mistake; He made you to be uniquely you. You are beautiful and precious in His eyes.

When the world tries to convince that all your shortcomings make you less than or that you will never measure up, remember this: God saw all of your mistakes when He gave you life. And He still made you. You have a purpose and you are not worthless. Because when God created you, He looked at what He had made and saw that it was very good! God’s Got You and He loves you!
